Welcome to the previous web site of the former research group Biomolecular NMR Spectroscopy.
The structure-function relationship for biomolecules relevant to ageing
processes and age-related disease were recent focus of the Biomolecular
NMR Group in order to understand damaging and repair mechanisms in mechanistic
molecular terms. This research included the cytotoxic oligomeric beta amyloid
peptide involved in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's Disease, the DNA
repair/replication helicases RecQL4 and MCM, the DNA repair protein Aprataxin
and heme-binding proteins. This work also included methods development for
solid-state and liquid-state NMR spectroscopy as well as for CD spectroscopy.
The results of the former Research Interests are itemized in several
publications.
Software generated by the former group is still provided by this
website.
A short overview on the former NMR facility is given here.
For further information, including software, please contact the former research group leader Dr. Matthias Görlach (now Head of Core).
